Hosting + GPS + Phone

After several days of research over the past weeks. I have unfortunately found out that my phone the V3 – cannot be interfaces with a GPS due to its limited bluetooth implementation [lack of JSR82 API]. This is unfortunate – as I would have relaly enjoyed doing something like this with my phone.

The good news is of course that there are plenty of other phones out there. Since I am departing for Europe in 2 days – I will have a look and see if I can pick up a handset which I can work with.

I have been looking at several smartphone devices which are windows based such as the SP2 and SP5. This will make development much easier due to the ability to use C# and do the whole project from the one IDE [VS2005]. Although I doubt I will be getting a smartphone – as I find their use to be limited by the fact it’s not the whole Windows  which is loaded but a handy-capped version. Much like taking a bat to a track athlete’s knee caps.

With hosting – unfortunately I have been unable to find anything suitable for the duration of my travel – and will therefore be setting up direct access for the team to the server at home.

Okay – that’s all for now – until I get back…
